“MDMA is a carcinogen, it’s a known carcinogen, it’s a known cancer-causing agent, and since Zantac has this over the limit presence of NDMA, we believe we will be able to prove that there is a link between the two.”

Zantac and its generic version ranitidine have been linked to cancer. Recent testing has exposed a known carcinogen in these products in levels considered unacceptable for human health. Patients who have been taking these medications are encouraged to cease taking these medications and look for a safer alternative.
It used to be available only by prescription, and it was prescribed millions of times. After it became available over-the-counter, it became a billion-dollar product.
Zantac has a cancer-causing agent called NDMA, a known carcinogen. The FDA limits the amount of NDMA in a product to 100 nanograms. Testing revealed that Zantac had several thousand times the legal limit of NDMA. An online pharmacy determined this during a quality control test. They repeated the test and got the same results. They sent these results to the FDA, which led to a massive recall and pulling the product from shelves.
If adequate quality control measures were in place, the makers of Zantac should have known that the drug contained unsafe amounts of cancer-causing elements. If an online pharmacy was able to run tests and determine that, then the drug makers should have been able to do the same.
If the drug manufacturers knew about the danger but still released the drug, that is equally dangerous and irresponsible. Unfortunately, it is not uncommon. To prioritize profits, drug makers will often release dangerous drugs into the marketplace and only issue a recall if the drug becomes a public safety concern.
Some individuals have filed lawsuits against Zantac. These individuals:
For pregnant mothers who took Zantac, the drug could have caused testicular cancer in their children.
Brown recommends anyone who meets either of the two criteria to speak to a lawyer immediately. His firm is currently speaking with individuals who have received a cancer diagnosis. It’s important to speak with an attorney early on to begin building your case and documenting your evidence.
While Zantac has been recalled, some people who took it may still have samples. If you do, it is very important that you hang on to these, along with any receipts or written prescriptions. This could become very important evidence in your case. It is recommended that you stop taking the drug due to the safety risk.
