Host:

What can a spouse do if they suspect their partner of hiding assets in a divorce?

Jimmy Vaught:

Well, in general, it's real hard to hide assets, 'cause almost everything leaves a paper trail. Now, there are a couple exceptions. If you have a cash business, for example, and one person's operating the business and they're not putting the cash in the cash register, so to speak, even there, if you audit the business, you're gonna see that they've done a lot of business, but they don't have much income. That's one way. Another way is a private investigator. But my experience is if someone's really sophisticated, you're not gonna find that hidden asset.
