Georgia Workers’ Compensation Attorney

Video Transcript:

Tom Mustin: Can you appeal the denial of a workers' comp claim in Georgia? We ask attorney Rebecca Halberg in this Ask the Lawyers quick question.

Rebecca Halberg:

You can. So initially, if you have a workers' compensation claim, you try it against what we call an ALJ. If the ALJ issues an opinion that is not favorable to you, you can appeal it to the next level, which is the appellate division. After that, it does leave the Workers' Compensation Board and move into the superior court, court of appeals, and then Supreme Court, but that can take many years.
