Calgary Injury Lawyer Explains

Video Transcript:

Molly Hendrickson:

Can a child who was hurt in an accident have a lawyer?

Steve Grover:

You know, the last thing you wanna see is a minor getting hit in an accident and injured. That's probably one of the worst things you could think of in the world. But if a child is, unfortunately, injured in an accident, hit by a car or a truck, he or she has an ability to make an injury claim but, unfortunately, they're under the age of the majority. Here in Alberta, you have to be 18 to start your own lawsuit, so usually what happens is one of the parents will step in and be a litigation representative for that child in the lawsuit to look out for their best interest and make decisions for the child.
