Rob Rosenthal:

Can you make a worker's comp claim without an attorney and should you? We asked Maryland lawyer Gwen-Marie Davis Hicks in this Ask the Lawyers Quick Question.

Gwen-Marie Davis Hicks:

Yes, it is possible to do it. I don't recommend it, there's so many pitfalls and avenues that you could avoid, and there's delays and a doctor they want you to go through and things like the hearings and to have an experienced workers' compensation attorney on your side is important to help to navigate the workers' compensation world. So I would definitely recommend to have an attorney for a workers' compensation claim.
