About Carla

Carla Barone leads the matrimonial and family law practice at Cohen Forman Barone and has worked in prestigious matrimonial law firms in New York City and Connecticut. Carla joined Cohen Forman Barone as a Partner in 2015, bringing over 12 years of matrimonial litigation and mediation experience to the firm. She has been admitted to practice law in New York State since 1998 and Connecticut since 2006.

After working as a public defender at The Legal Aid Society, Criminal Defense Division, Carla began working in the private sector handling all phases of matrimonial and family law. Since that time, she has devoted her career to navigating individuals and families through the difficulty of divorce, custody, asset division, and separation.

She is a frequent lecturer on matrimonial law issues and published articles for the Connecticut Law Tribune and co-authored a chapter in a multi-state continuing legal education resource entitled A Practical Guide to Divorce in Connecticut.

Carla Barone is a member of the New York City Women's Bar, Matrimonial Section, the Connecticut Bar Association, Family Law Section and the Nassau County Bar Association.
