Workers Comp Bureau Rewards Safety Conscious Businesses

Recently, the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) awarded a $30,000 grant to the City of St. Marys. The funds will be used to install an automatic cot lifting system for ambulances. The BWC provides grants like these as incentives for businesses to be more safety conscious in the workplace. “I applaud the city for recognizing that investments in workplace safety can lead to positive results, both in terms of fewer injuries and in keeping workers’ comp costs low and employees healthy and productive,” said the BWC CEO.

If only the rest of Ohio businesses would get on the safety bandwagon, they would find that it is much more affordable to protect their workers than to neglect them.
