Mississippi Attorney Explains Liability in Pile-up Crashes

Video Transcript:

Rob Rosenthal:

How do you determine who's at fault in a multi-car crash? We asked Mississippi attorney Merrida Coxwell in this AskTheLawyers™ Quick Question.

Merrida Coxwell:

I don't think I've ever had one where it was difficult finding the first person that hit and caused the accident. There are probably some out there where the cars are so tangled up in these big freeways like Interstate 5 and outside Los Angeles. But I've never had one where we could not, with the help of an expert, separate who caused the first hit and started the accident. I've not had a difficulty with this so far in the 40 years I've been practicing law.
