What is a traumatic brain injury? We asked Arizona Attorney Timothy Tonkin for this AskTheLawyers Quick Question.

Timothy Tonkin:

A TBI is a traumatic brain injury. It is diagnosed after someone gets hit in the head or when their head moves in a way where the brain actually will impact the inside of the skull. There can be three types of traumatic brain injuries: mild, moderate and severe. The moderate and severe ones are easy to diagnose. The mild, not so much. Our brain is just like muscles in the body, it can be bruised, it can be damaged, and any time that occurs, that's a traumatic brain injury.
