Workers' compensation can be very complicated, and if you are injured on the job, unfortunately, your employer and the insurance company have the benefit of kind of being in the business and understanding workers compensation claims and understanding the law. And they don't always tell the truth about things. They might not tell you that you can be reimbursed for your mileage or that you get to switch doctors or that you're entitled to disability. So by talking to a lawyer and hiring a lawyer to represent you, you know that lawyer, especially if they focus on workers compensation. They have your best interest in mind and they can make sure that you're getting both the income and the medical benefits that you're entitled to under the law.
