Austin Criminal Lawyer Explains What to Do

Video Transcript:

Rob Rosenthal:

Do you know what to do if you're pulled over by police and you have a weapon in the car? Let's ask Austin lawyer Sam Bassett for an Ask the Lawyers Quick Question.

Sam Bassett:

The first thing you should do is obviously cooperate with the officer and inform the officer you have a weapon, and where it's located. Officers are always very appreciative of this, and it also avoids any situations where your possession of a gun might be best interpreted as an intent to harm or do something dangerous with the officer present.
