I'm the first person in my family to attend and graduate law school. We have had some lawyers since, and it has been amazing to inspire them, but I am a first generation lawyer.

During law school I was introduced to trial advocacy, so I ended up doing mock trial competitions and fell in love with trying cases. I knew I did not want to be a prosecutor, the thought of having to send someone to jail just made me sick; so I knew I wanted to do civil work, and at that point in my career graduating from law school, plaintiff's firms were not really hiring. So I went to the firm that had the reputation for trying the most cases, and it was accurate. I tried my first case two weeks after getting my license.

As a personal injury attorney, you meet people when they are at the lowest point that they could be. It's an absolute privilege when people select you to help walk them through that valley that they're in, and to get them back to where they were or to whatever their new normal is going to be.
