Video Transcript:

Judy Maggio:

Do you have to pay your ex's credit card debt if you get divorced? Let's ask Austin lawyer Jillian French for an Ask the Lawyer's Quick Question.

Jillian French:

Typically the answer is going to be no. However, there are certain circumstances where a credit card could have been used for necessary, and that will be considered as part of the property division. Not necessarily that you will have to pay it, but it may come into play as far as the property division totals.
