Mississippi Injury Lawyer Explains What to Do Next

Video Transcript:

Rob Rosenthal:

What should a construction worker do if you're injured while in a work zone? We asked Mississippi attorney Merrida Coxwell in this AskTheLawyers™ Quick Question.

Merrida Coxwell:

The most important thing is always, and I've repeated this over and over and over again, seek medical attention. Be honest with your doctor; be sure you tell your doctor all of the complaints that you have, and then go see your lawyer and let them go about preserving evidence and obtaining the evidence. They need to prove your claim. Generally, that's gonna be a workers’ comp claim case. There are some instances where a third party might have caused the injury, but most of the time those would be workers’ comp and the recovery in those cases is limited by law.
