How Are Bus Accidents Different From Car Crashes?

Video Transcript:

Molly Hendrickson:

How are bus accidents different from wrecks involving only passenger vehicles? We asked attorney Michelle West in this Ask The Lawyers Quick Question.

Michelle West:

Bus accidents are an entirely different animal. There are so many things that you have to look out for. If it is Transit Authority, there may be government claim deadlines, for example, it could be the Orange County Transportation Authority or Transit Authority. Each city or area might have a different transit authority, and those may have a six-month government claim deadline, and you have to look for each individual area. If it's a private company with a passenger bus, obviously, those can be massive cases and have multiple layers of insurance and responsibility, including product liability components to those cases. So, when you're dealing with a bus case, there are so many different complex areas that have to be analyzed.
