Austin Divorce Lawyer Explains How to Calculate

Video Transcript:

Rob Rosenthal:

How is your business valued if you're going through a divorce? We asked Austin attorney Jimmy Vaught in this AskTheLawyers™ Quick Question.

Jimmy Vaught:

If there's somebody and their a one-man shop, so to speak, it’s not going to have a lot of value because let’s say, for example, that the primary person there that runs and owns the company; if that person just disappeared, that company is not going to have very much value. So, that’s a consideration in valuing. I don't know as far as bank appraisals or evaluations, but I know in family law we do use very good business valuators.
