This video features Tom Metier, a Personal Injury attorney based in Colorado.
Rob Rosenthal:
Do you know what symptoms to watch for to tell if someone has a brain injury after an accident? That's what we ask Colorado attorney Tom Metier in this AskTheLawyers™ Quick Question.
Tom Metier:
There are many things to watch for; some of the primary ones are confusion, speech that's altered, not being able to recite details about what happened in the accident, which can show that a person was unconscious for a period of time. Also, we'll have conditions of headaches, dizziness, and extreme fatigue where they seem to want to sleep all the time or can't pay attention for very long. You may also see things with memory where you've told them something and they forget that they've been asked that question or told that information. So being kind is important, and also we'll see things like, they’ll complain the lights are too bright, or there's too much noise, or they can't quite understand what you're saying. All of those are symptoms of early indication in a brain injury case.
