Reasons to Hire a Qualified Indianapolis Injury Attorney

Dan Chamberlain, an Indianapolis injury lawyer with Doehrman Chamberlain, explains how a qualified attorney can help your medical malpractice case. Medical malpractice can result in physical and financial damages, which an attorney can help you reclaim.

Transcript:

One of the most important reasons to hire a qualified personal injury attorney is that in every case there’s one thing that is the same. Medical expenses have been incurred. And when the medical expenses have been incurred on your behalf, when the case is over you have to re-pay those medical expenses to the lienholders. That includes such entities as Medicare, Medicaid, health insurance.

Now sometimes folks are uninsured. And that’s another reason to hire an attorney. Because we can take those medical expenses that ultimately have to be paid on your behalf and get them reduced. Without an attorney you have to pay that money back all on your own.

Why Does My Case Take So Long? Indianapolis Injury Lawyer Tom Doehrman Explains

Settling or litigating a case takes time; we want to know exactly how severe your damages are before we proceed with your case. Indianapolis injury attorney Tom Doehrman of Doehrman Chamberlain has years of personal injury experience he can use to help your case.

Transcript:

The reason that a case like yours will take so long is because we can only get one settlement. In other words, the insurance company will come to us at some point and perhaps have already come to you and said, “What do you want, make us an offer. We want to settle.” If we obtain a settlement, we can’t go back three years from now and say, “You know what? The injury was worse than we thought. We need more money.” So our responsibility, along with your medical team’s responsibility is to determine when your condition is such that they can give us expert opinions as to what the future’s going to hold for you. Are you going to be able to return to your work? Are you going to need additional surgeries? Are you going to need medication for the rest of your life? These things oftentimes aren’t answered for months or sometimes even years.

If you’ve been seriously injured through the fault of another give us a call. At Doehrman & Chamberlain, we are ready to receive your call or your email. We don’t charge for initial consultation. We will talk to you and determine if you in fact need an attorney to represent your interests.

What is a Lawsuit? Indianapolis Accident Attorney Tom Doehrman Explains How They Work

Many clients do not know what to expect when considering a lawsuit, and many may not consider themselves the type of person who would file a lawsuit. As Indianapolis accident lawyer Tom Doehrman of Doehrman Chamberlain explains, the reality is much simpler than many believe.

Transcript:

Many clients are uncomfortable the first time I meet with them. They’re uncomfortable. What’s going to happen if I file a law suit? What am I going to get involved in? They’re not the type of person who typically files a lawsuit. A lawsuit is nothing more than a piece of paper filed in court stating you have a claim. A lawsuit is not a trial, most cases never get to trial. Most cases are settled without a trial. A lawsuit is your right to obtain the evidence and information you need to figure out who’s responsible for your injury, what kind of insurance coverage do they have, and most importantly, to figure out what am I going to need for my future? If you’ve been seriously injured through the fault of another, give us a call. We do not charge for the initial consultation, and we can tell you and help you decide, do you need an attorney to represent your interest?

Indianapolis Injury Attorney Dan Chamberlain Describes Benefits You May be Able to Collect

There are several factors at play when you seek compensation from an insurance company following a serious accident. Indianapolis injury lawyer Dan Chamberlain of Doehrman Chamberlain explains how personal injury victims might require a special needs trust or other financial protection to preserve their damages.

Transcript:.

Sometimes there is not enough liability insurance to adequately compensate for the harm caused by others. What happens next? The bottom line is that there may be health insurance or other governmental programs that assist with healthcare costs. However, before any agreement to compromise is reached, it is important to assess a person’s needs in addition to benefits that they may or may not be entitled to collect. For example, under certain circumstances benefits may be terminated if a person receives a settlement but does not adequately protect the money received from the same.
This may require the victim or their family to “spend down the recovery” until they are eligible again to receive benefits. One of the areas of protection may include a special needs trust also note as in SNT. An SNT may preserve a person’s settlement while allowing continued access to certain governmental benefits. It is important to contact a qualified attorney that knows the rules and can assist in preserving money that is needed to care for a loved one and their family.

Meet Indianapolis Brain Injury Lawyer Dan Chamberlain

Indianapolis brain injury attorney Dan Chamberlain works to help victims of negligence, including those with traumatic brain injuries. As vice chair of the Brain Injury Association of America, he understands the problems facing America’s brain injury community.

Transcript:

My name is Dan Chamberlain. I was born in South Bend, Indiana. I’ve been an attorney for 22 years. I enjoy my work, and I enjoy helping people.

One of the things, I think, that sets myself and my law firm, Doehrman and Chamberlain, aside from others, is not just that we’re board certified advocates, but we’re also recognized in the community as an AV rated law firm. That’s a rating that is given to lawyers by other lawyers; meaning that we have the highest ethical and competency standards of all lawyers that are practicing.

I enjoy my work, I enjoy helping people. One of the things that I really cherish is the involvement that I have with the Brain Injury Association of Indiana. We’ve been corporate sponsors for over 10 years of the Brain Injury Association. We’ve developed support groups from South Bend to Evansville. We have 19 support groups that help people all across the State of Indiana and I really enjoy that.

I’m also vice chair of the Brain Injury Association of America, so while we’re also focusing at home on support groups and trying to help those folks with brain injury, we’re also helping on a national scale in Washington, D.C.

I consider my clients to be my friends and I receive referrals from my clients, I receive Christmas cards from my clients, and I really enjoy the personal interaction. If you call my office, I’ll call you back the next day if I can’t do it immediately.

Experienced Indianapolis Truck Accident Attorneys are Vital to Saving Your Evidence

A strong supply of evidence can heavily influence the outcome of a truck accident lawsuit. As Indianapolis truck accident lawyer Dan Buba explains, an experienced trucking attorney knows exactly what kind of evidence you need and how to find it. He recommends acting fast while certain records are still on file.

Transcript:

One of the reasons I would recommend that you seek the counsel of an experienced truck crash attorney, if you are involved in a truck crash case, is because the information that’s available is a lot different in an ordinary truck crash case. First off, truck drivers are required to keep a log of the hours that they’ve worked, everywhere they’ve been, and how long they’ve been on the road. This is important because you don’t want a tractor-trailer driver operating an 80,000 pound vehicle, who’s fatigued, or who’s tired, or overworked. That’s why they have those log books out there and that’s the type of information that an experienced truck attorney will know you need to get and obtain.
Some other information that might be available is what you may know of as a black box. It’s an electronic device that records the speed, the truck driver’s movements, whether the truck driver had his or her brake lights on, or their turn signals on; issues that could be important in a truck crash case. An experienced truck attorney knows the experts to contact who can go and get information off this black box that may be vital to your case and that type of information needs to be preserved.

Hire an Experienced Indianapolis Accident Attorney

When you hire an experienced Indianapolis injury lawyer following a devastating injury, you not only help yourself: you help your community by taking action against negligent parties and discouraging destructive behavior in the future. Contact Doehrman Chamberlain to learn more about how we can help you and your loved ones recover. We offer free consultations.

Transcript:

There are a number of reasons why you should talk to an attorney. One, you owed it to your child to find out, was their injury caused by negligence in the labor and delivery room? Two, you owe it to the rest of the community that this doesn’t happen to someone else; that the people who made mistakes be held accountable so this kind of damage will not happen to another parent. So that another parent will not have to deal with a lifetime of care for a small child who maybe can’t walk, can’t talk, can’t hold themselves up, is going to have special needs for the rest of their life. This is why you need to contact an attorney and this is why our firm has handled these cases for many years. We have learned that the quicker we get involved, the better, because records will be destroyed, nurses will move, memories will fade, and it becomes much harder to prove the case if too much time passes.
